Groups and Workshops

Are you interested in learningabout what art therapy is and how it may be used? Perhaps you would simply like to learn how to build your creativity or self-awareness? Thumbprint offers a range of workshops and projects to suit various needs. From a one-hour workshop with volunteers to a 12-week pilot project with at risk youth, the options are various. All groups, workshops and projects are provided in a safe and supportive environment. No art skills are required and all art materials are provided.

Workshops give participants the opportunity to explore links between the arts and health using a range of expressive modalities including the visual arts, drama, play and movement. The workshops are tailored to the needs and interests of the participants and may introduce a mixture of directive and non-directive art therapy techniques.

Participants leave the workshops with a practical understanding of what art therapy is and how creative and expressive activities may be used to develop and maintain health and well-being. The workshops may also provide participants with information on how to become a professional Art Therapist.
